These terms govern your use of www.coastalhousingresources.com, operated by Coastal Housing Resources Corp., which operates as Coastal Housing Resources ("we", "us", "our"), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in San Luis Obispo County, California. By using the website, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

Using the website

You may use the website to learn about our work, contact us, donate, and offer or request furniture. You agree not to:

  • Use the website for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
  • Submit false information or impersonate another person or organization.
  • Interfere with the website's operation or security, or attempt to access areas you are not authorized to use.
  • Copy or collect content or personal information from the website by automated means for commercial use.

Financial donations

Donations are voluntary and are processed by a third-party payment processor under its own terms. Coastal Housing Resources is a 501(c)(3) organization, EIN 99-4337477. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent the law allows; please consult your tax advisor about your own situation.

Donations are final and non-refundable. If you made a donation in error or were charged the wrong amount, contact us within 30 days and we will work with you to correct it.

We apply donations where they are most needed to carry out our mission, unless we have agreed in writing to a specific restriction.

Furniture and household item donations

We are grateful for every offer, and we accept items at our discretion. We may decline items that are damaged, stained, recalled, unsafe, or that we cannot store or place. By donating an item, you confirm that:

  • You own it or have authority to donate it.
  • You have described its condition honestly.
  • Ownership passes to us when we accept it, and we may use, pass on, recycle or dispose of it as we see fit.

Pickup times are estimates and depend on volunteer and vehicle availability. We do not assign a dollar value to donated items; the donor is responsible for valuing them for tax purposes.

Requests for assistance

Furniture and household items are provided subject to availability, eligibility and referral requirements. Submitting a request does not guarantee that we can fulfill it, or by any particular date.

Items are gently used and are provided "as is". We inspect donations with care, but we make no warranty about the condition, safety or suitability of any item.

Volunteers and warehouse visits

Visits to our warehouse at 1309 Pacific Blvd., Oceano, are by appointment only. Volunteers and visitors agree to follow our safety instructions and may be asked to sign a separate volunteer agreement or waiver.

Our content

The text, photographs, logos and design on this website belong to Coastal Housing Resources or are used with permission. You may share our pages and quote short passages with credit to us. Please ask before using our name, logo or photographs for any other purpose.

Links to other websites

The website may link to sites run by partners, payment processors and others. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.

Disclaimers
